Question about sand

I got a new 10 gal tank that im going to set up this weekend. I would love to get sand because i plan on getting cories and its cute watching them nuzzle the ground when its sand. My question is what kind of sand do i get?? I read that theres a sand that raises the pH which i deff dont want and i want some that has some color. (I saw someone here with black sand and I want that)

Most people get play sand from places like Home Depot or Lowes.

Is there something other than play sand. Seems kinda gross to me on the bottom? I dunno lol. Is there colored sand i can get that safe for clearwater fish?

I got a bag of Eco-Complete that had the live bacteria in a packet. I simply chucked them and just used the sand. I did get it for 50% off so a 10 lb bag cost me about $6. Here's a pic of my tank with black sand. I love it and your cories will really stick out.

I have green sand in one of my tanks.
Don't get play sand! Go to a petstore and buy aquarium sand!

I just added 20 lbs of black sand to my aquarium and there seems to be like stuff floating at the top, it looks like fine sand or like little patches of black bubbles and gunk... i thought i had rinsed it out properly but maybe not.. so will this stuff fall to the bottom or am i gonna have to keep skimming the tank?
