Question filter help for 8g please help

hi all, im new here, i think i posted in the wrong place before, sorry! ive been keeping tropical fish for a while now and have moved some of them to a bigger tank, opening up my 8g for the betta fish ive always wanted hooray. my tank is pretty much ready, i have silk plants, a cool cave, rocks and gravel, and a heater for my cool little guy ( i havnt got him home yet but hes fab) as well as indian almound leaves and all i need now is a filter. i have an old filter that does 105g/hour but i have been told that this is far too much water flow for bettas so im wondering if there is a basic rule of thumb for filtration flow/hour in an 8g tank please help as i was thinking of making a sponge filter and want to know how big an air pump i need???????
thanks!!!

I don't think you need an air pump, but don't hold me to my word on that! I think as far as water flow goes, you want it as gentle/little as possible without cutting off water flow. But I'm not sure. The Tetra Whisper Filter (thats the name?) is the popular one around here, and I have an old Duetto 50 that I like.

I like my Aqua Tech 5-15 filter. You can get it at walmart for like 10 bucks. You'll need to make a baffle 'cause the flow is strong, but that is really easy.

You could also get a small corner or sponge filter. You need an air pump to operate those though. It'd be cheaper to get the 5-15 filter.
