Pesticides

Guess what ladies, I got into a huge discussion with a co worker the other day. Her family has been breeding fish for over 20years including bettas at some point in time. I was talking to her about how one of my bettas was slowing down abit wasnt really as active as he used to be and one thing led to another. Ends up there is a very small amount of a type of pesticide in betta pellets. I cant remember what the name of it is but its even on the back label. In my eyes even though its a small amount thats still pesticide so I immidiately stopped feeding my fishy the pellets and started feeding them thawed blood worms in the morings then freeze dried at night. Anyone else heard of this before?

The only thing I know is, pesticides are meant to kill things. Soooo.... I wouldn't do it.

What is the temp of the water?

O my fish is fine now. But I was just wondering because its on the label and everything and she researched it and found out it was a pesticide though they use a very low dose. I'll ask her what one it was again so I can post it here for you guys<3

Nope. Never once heard of this before.....I'm very skeptical.

What kind of pellets are they? If there is any way you can find out the name of that ingredient again....I'm interested, I'd like to look more into it myself....

No matter what though, you shouldn't feed bloodworms as a staple diet....I suggest looking for another brand of pellets if your REALLY worried about it....and if your super paranoid, then I do believe theres a brand of special betta flakes...not sure how good those are though....
