How big should this tank be......

I am thinking about possibly getting a female betta fish (probably crowntail) that is if I can stay away from the males. How big should this tank be for a small female or even a small male. I rele want to make him or her happy. I have a large vase that i will put a small plant in and some gravel. Is this ok or do I need somthing more?

I wouldn't put a female in anything less than a 1.5 gallon.

As with any tank, vase, or bowl, make sure it has plenty of horizontal space.

Here it is.... It is about 11inches high. The pic. makes it look alot smaller than it rele is
