is it ok to dip Ruby out of her bowl with a net to change the water or should I dip her out in a small glass of water?

I do both. I have 2 that will just swim right into their plastic cups they came in & I have two that refuse so I have to use the net.

I use both. If I can, I get the out with a cup, especially my males. If you DO have to net them, I recommend a Brine Shrimp Net. It is very soft and won't tear their fins.

I use a net most of the time unless I can trick them into going into the cup which usually doesn't happen. I've never had any issues with netting.
