What, what did you do? Did you put the cup on him? If you did, maybe he didn't like that.

I put him *in* the cup, and left him in there, in order to get the cup's water to adjust to the same temp as the tank. He didn't care for it, because he kept wanting to swim to the bottom of the tank and be free.

Hmm I think I get it. Try not doing that next time and see how he reacts. I leave my bettas swimming around and they're used to changes, so it's all good.
