Well... After searching high and low, Wal-mart to Petland, I've finally found my females. I ended up finding them at Petsmart, and they had pretty good selection too but these four stole my heart!
Meet Kasey, she's named after Kasey Kahne
! I couldn't help myself, just look at that racing stripe she has! ( 7 hours and counting and she hasn't lost it...)
The photo doesn't do her justice! She's a blue like color with purple iridescent and her stripe is navy blue outlining silver.
Next in line is Persephone. As soon as I saw her, I knew I had to get her. I just find her so enchanting.
Now this gal isn't named yet. I agreed to let my friend name one of my fishies, and honestly I can't think of a name even if I wanted too! Though she does remind me of Mystic from X-men.
One way she is dark blue/black and suddenly she is a vivid forest green! I love it!
Now Nox is like Persephone in the fact that she stole my heart on sight.
I wish it didn't block her face in this photo.
I'm in love! Like I said they are from Petsmart so as soon as I got home I took them out of that nasty water and cleaned the cup and put 80 degree F fishie safe water in the cup and floated the cups in a heated 5 gallon. Persephone floated with Jasper for a little bit because I couldn't fit her in with the other gals.
Any whom they are living happily now in my sorority, all sweet and docile. I've seen a few nips but no one is overly aggressive. :) Haha I sat and watched my tank for 2 hours straight!
Even Coral and Scarlet took well to living with some sisters!
Here is a few shots of the tank before fishies...
Its flowered Lilly pads and grass that's floating. For some reason I feel like I need floating plants for a sorority but I have no clue why! They seem to like them, so why not...
Six pots, two have the bottoms cut off so they can swim through, two have the bottom hole made very large and are upside down, and the last two have the little hole covered and are placed on the side slightly tilting up. Tons of fake plants and currently I have some sea salt in the tank, just a in case measure, but after I cycle the salt out I have some aquatic plant bulbs I want to grow!
Side note: Kristoph is loving this, I brought my laptop to my desk and have been watching him and typing at the same time! Such a ham!
