omega red cant stay down

she is reallly floating on her side bad, and its mostly when her plant is in the tank. she will basically beach herself on her plant, getting her whole side out of the water. and then when i take it out, she swims around trying ot stay down but is not really able to . its like shes got a floaty tied to her tail fin. strange. otherwise she seems in really great health. shes the one i kinda think is giant beta or part...or just reallly huge.

It sounds like she has swimbladder disorder. How much and what do you feed her?

That was my first thought too...swim bladder...I have found that epsom salt 1tsp/gal along with daily water change while in a QT container works the best, hold all food for at least 3 days and then offer a smashed pea without the skin, if swimming improve and she eat the pea, feed a high protein meaty food by day 5 and continue Epsom salt for at least 7-10 days.

You can also try daphnia if she won't eat the pea.

Bloodworms should only be given as a once or twice a week treat. I would feed her a good pellet food such as Hikari betta bio gold or Wardleys pellets as her staple diet.

i have some pellets i give occasionally, i could switch it and do the blood worms on occasion. but shes totally fin now, i get this feeling she throws a fit when she wants a change in scenery, its always every couple months she does this. then i mover her to a sick tank and keep her in the bathroom...and shes fine lol.
