Bubble nest requirements?

Ok so I couldn't find anything specific, maybe I didn't look correctly or hard enough. Either way I at least know that everything needs to be perfect, but what is perfect?

I guess I'm asking what do I need to do to get a bubble nest out of my guy, I never have gotten one, this is my fourth fish and I want to try for one if possible.

If you're expecting a bubblenest from your betta, that's not always the case. Unless you're breeding?
I got a bubble nest from my guy in the weirdest of times - when he was unbelievable stressed and tailbiting himself. Completely confused me. I'm not sure what the "perfect" conditions are either - sometimes it's not when they're completely happy. There could be even little surface agitation preventing them. Sometimes it's just pure instinct as well.

mk, I always see the happy people showing theirs off as was wondering what conditions it was in order for those nests to come up.

Yeah, I would say my betta right now are very happy, bright colors and everything. But no bubble nest for me. And IMO building a bubble nest is more from instinct rather than "I'm happy and therefore I build a bubble nest" kindof thing.

Yeah, it's more of an instinct than a happy thing. Some of my fish have never made one before. A couple of them would build nests when I put a tank next to their tank that had a female in it. The next day, VUALA (sp?)! There'd be a huge bubblenest.

For two of my fish, they make big bubble nests whenever I change around their decor.
Especially this last time, I added a few more silk plants (yay, more stuff to swim in and out of!) and BAM! Cute bubblies! ^O^

Yep, it doesn't mean they are happy, it means they are ready to breed. Nothing else.
