Hello all, i'm Vivica-- and i'm new to this forum. I've been caring for betta fish for over 6 years now, and I thought I knew it all. Two days ago my betta fish Illidan died. Only at a sad two years old. It broke my heart, since my one betta fish before that--Nemo, lived 4 full and long years before he passed.
So now I'm determined, to make Feeshy (my current betta i've had for about 6 months) happier. I've always had my fish in 2.5 gallon tanks, but I haven't given them adequate plants or heaters to keep the temperature at a level temperature. I feel horrible. I feel like I killed Illidan. After reading through a whole lot of content on this website, I feel like a newb, and my poor fish had to suffer because of it.
Well, good news is Feeshy is doing very well. His filter doesn't work quite right, (it only bubbles, not pours out) but he's very perky. So I need advice on the filter, and I guess how many silk plants I need to add. I'm also looking into getting a 5 gal, since a lot of you recommend that much for a little guy. All I want is for my animals to be happy. I'm no stranger to animals of all kinds, but it's amazing how distorted pet stores seem to make betta fish and betta care.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Here's Feeshy.
Please feel free to tell me what I need, and what you recommend.
