Stress Coat, to use or not to use?

That is the question. :P

So I went to petco tonight to get the last few things I needed to get for preparing the tank and I grabbed a bottle of stress coat incase I ever needed it...should I use it tonight when I'm setting up the tank? I'm going to be getting the fish tomorrow. I got this one: http://www.petco.com/product/2896/Aq...nditioner-2896

Is it worth adding the water conditioner too? Because this also works to make the tap water safe as well...I think.

I use stress coat as my Water conditioner.

Works great and helps heal sick fish (which I usually have at least one of.. Rescues :)

Alright, so I'll use that instead of putting that and the tap water conditioner I got. I shoulda read it so I didn't buy both. *Sighs*

I also have a question with the stress coat, what does it exactly do, and what have you used it for? I've never used it, so I'm not really sure what it does.

It helps build up the natural slime coat on the fish.

I've never used it but some of the Breeders in my group do... some don't. I prefer the prime conditioner and I don't medicate unless medication is warranted so I don't use it.

Sometimes when shipping or transporting a fish their slime coat can get worn down with all the netting and handling. So yeah, that's how it helps.

Ha, interesting. I probably won't use it, but now I kinda know what it does, lol.
