Arrow Am I Doing Anything wrong? ********

I have one small, red, VT male. I put him on my nightstand,( out of harms way of course ), and for a light im using a desk lamp. It brings the usually 78 Degrees up to 80.
Scince Im new, i want to know if theres anything i should do differently.
I'll take any advice.

you need to have a heater using a lamp for a heat source will cause dangerous temperature swings. you need a heater that stays at a stable temperature (around 80*)

Go for the ones that go directly into the water, not on outside on the glass.

I want to also get a Normal tank light
What do you think about those betta leaf hammocks or logs?

Well frankly, there's no such thing as "normal tank light". But the common one is a fluorescent bulb. Make sure it fits your hood.

I've never seen a betta leaf hammock or log IRL before... closest thing to log is driftwood, so not sure.
