Love the sea shells. Did you buy them from a store or find them on a beach yourself? I ask because I have a ton of them from the beach here and I would really like to put them in my tanks.

If you collected yours from a beach, how did you go about cleaning them? I tried putting one in a tank once but this black stuff started collecting/growing on it so I took it out.

Thanks, Yeap the sea shells are real but they are pretty old. my mom collected them from a beach in newfoundland and they were just sitting in a candle holder. To wash them I just let them soak in really really hot water and then rinsed them. So far no icky black stuff...hopefully that doesnt start growing :S yikes!
