Pellets and Flakes.

I can't seem to find the threads I am looking for on here, so sorry if I am being redundant, but I think I need to buy either pellets or flakes for my new guy Firefly. He doesn't seem as happy to eat the freezedried stuff as the other fish and so I want to get an alternative just in case I can't get him to eat the freezedried stuff well.

I would like to know which Betta pellets and Betta flakes brands you use for your Bettas and why you chose that one (and which you think would be most palatable). This way I can see which ones might work for me to choose from.

You should get Aqueon betta pellets. They are great pellets!

He probably won't eat for a few days. They need time to get adjusted.

I use topfin and I love those pellets.. never had one single problem. Other good brands are aqueon, wardleys (although they're huge), hikari, and omega 1.

Are you feeding freeze dried foods regularly? That can cause problems with fatty liver as freeze dried foods don't have much nutritional value.

Firefly ate some of the freezedried food but he isn't crazy over them he'll spit out like all the pieces except like one tiny piece maybe. In Speedbump's section, yes, the the tetras and Speedbump get freezedried (bloodworms, crushed krill, daphnia and Brine shrimp cubes crushed, and the corys and tetras push around the sinking shrimp pellets) Speedbump won't eat the Betta pellets. Maybe I can try flakes for him, I don't know why I never thought of that! lol, since flakes might be a similar consistency as freezedried to him. Good thing I started this thread then, lol.

I use Aqueon, Wardleys and Hikari bio gold.

I use aqueon, bio-gold (old formula), and top fin color enhancing :)
(i feed all pellets and no flakes btw)

ahh ok. I see Hikari , top fin and Aqueon as well liked products, I will try those. It seems Speedbump didn't like the Hikari pellets so I gave them away to a friend. Maybe he will like one of the other brands better.

If you get the topfin I would get the regular pellets instead of the color enhancing ones.. those are really big and some of my fish couldn't eat them, I had to crush them up.
