Cycling Ammonia

Yes its me again. I posted like a month ago about cycling and got lots of great help and was all ready to do it. And then I got sick and it had a lot to do with my throat and lungs and such. So working with the pure ammonia was a no no. But I seem to finally be on the mend and so I thought i'd FINALLY get started.

So I got out my ammonia bottle and searched all over for what % strength it was so I could punch it into the fishless cycling calculator and I didnt find any. Does this mean its not the right stuff? I shook the bottle like crazy and never saw any foam.

It may say something along the lines of 95.7 g/L which is 10% ammonia.

As long as you don't get any on you, especially your eyes, you'll be fine Whitney.

Put a few drops in a gallon container, then stir it up and test it. That will tell you how much to use to get your tank to a little over 1.0ppm ammonia, which is as high as you want for fishless cycling for one Betta.

Anyway, no foam? You're good to go.
