Hello, I'm new

Hi everyone, I'm new so I thought I'd introduce myself and my fish. This is my delta-tail betta named Lockheed -

I named him after the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics company because he kind of looks like a space shuttle :)

I've had Lockheed for a little over 2 weeks and so far he seems to be doing great. He really likes hiding under the leaves of his plant for a lot of the time.

Anyway, hope to meet others interested (and hopefully know a lot about) betta fish.

Thanks everybody :)

Just wondering, what do you all normally feed your bettas? Right now I'm using Bloodworms (which I've used in the past and seem to have done a good job). Was wondering if you mix different foods or alternate between various things.

Thanks for the replies :)

Welcome! Lockheed is gorgeous! :)

I'm waiting for the answer to your betta food question, too. I just got a betta myself and was wondering if he's getting tired of betta pellets.

I'll tell you what I feed mine...and they seem happy enough. I use the betta pellets, but I also treat them with frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms (which is actually mosquito larvae), and live black worms (tubifex). Careful not to overfeed...they've got very small stomachs.

That's something else I was wondering about - overfeeding. Almost every betta info site I've checked says to feed them 2 times a day, but the instructions on the container my betta came in said feed sparingly 2 to 3 times a week. I've been trying to comprimise and feed him once a day, not too much. How often do you feed yours?
