Halfmoon wont flare..boooooo =[

My halfmoon Matthew has only flared ONCE! However my VT Peter flares all the time lol I am sorry, but flaring just cracks me up. He flares his heart out to at Matthew and Matthew just sits their and does not flare back or anything boooo How do i get Matthew to flare?? If another betta flaring at him and his own reflection does not get him to flare, what will??

My betta almost never flares either. Not at a mirror, nor at another betta. Every once in a blue moon I catch him flaring at his own reflection in the evening, when the room lights are off but his tank light is on. It's just my opinion that flaring is a "stressful" behavior and I like that my guy is mellow. When we put up our dukes for a fight our hearts get racing, I wonder if it's the same for fish??

Tango and Whiskey flare. In fact, Whiskey is at it again tonight with the non-stop flaring. Not sure what his deal is.

Kilo won't flare for/at ANYTHING.

A Carpender bee just flew into our house and my 14 lb., miniature pinscher attacked and killed it,lol! :)

wait flaring actually stresses the fish? I have been told it is good to get the betta to flare to keep him entertained, etc... hence the purpose of a mirror or being able to see another betta right??

LOL my Peter flares like crazy at Matthew and Matthew just hovers their and does not flinch or flare back as to say "pffff please you may be bigger, but please" LOL
