I have noticed different people doing different ways on this, I have been thinking of giving my guy his light back now that I have a heater that keeps the temp exactly the same. What is the amount of time to have a light on for the bettas?

I usually wake up about 1-2 pm and don't go to bed till about 2 am or earlier.

I turn my lights on at 10 or 10:30PM and I'm up by 6:30 or 7AM to turn them off. The lights shouldn't be on more than 8 or 9 hours a day. They need a day/night schedule just like we do.

I get home at 5PM and turn the lights off at midnight, or later. I'm going to invest in a timer, though, and plan to keep them on about 8-10 hours.
