Water change and bubble nest

I have a quick question. The water needs to be changed in my tank, its a 1.5 gallon and I have been putting the water change because of the bubble nest my fish has made. He hasn't made a bubble next since October so I really hate to mess it up. I know he can make another one, but I was wondering if there is a way that the nest could be saved and to do a 100% water change, or even a 90% water change? I guess it is a silly question and maybe I should just change the water and not worry about the nest, but he's worked so hard on it.

I would honestly say, don't worry about it. He will make another one. This is a bit blunt, but you shoudl focus more on clean water than his bubble nest (too bad mine never makes any for me, haha.)

If you do want to really preserve it, I think Chicklet does something with a styrofoam cup, if that gives you any ideas.

That's what I figured. I'm just proud i guess that he has made one for the first time in 5 months that I feel bad destroying it. I will do the water change and he can make another. :( lol. Maybe I should ask Chicklet how to use the styrofoam cup to save the next one he makes.

I guess I'm lucky, my guy has a new bubble nest made within 12 hours of me changing the water or messing up his current nest
