Sometimes it's just easier to say Bey-tah since no one know what kind of fish a Bet-ah is. Last resort is Siamese Fighting Fish.

I pronounce it Betta (or siamese fighting fish to people who don't know what a betta fish is). Also the incentive to call them betta is becasue my boyfriends uncle is called "Beta" lol

That's true, Romad. I guess I should start calling them Siamese Fighting Fish, but that's such a mouthful!
