Filter baffle for Eclipse 3?

anyone know how to reduce the flow via a baffle on an eclipse?

Get an open pore sponge and rubber band it over the out flow. Make sure you cut notches in the sponge where the bands go so it doesn't wrap around the outflow but just lays overtop of it.

Where do I find an open pore sponge? Just in the sponge section at the LPS?

Yeah.. you can even just get regular scrubbing sponges from the dollar store.. thats what I have on my other filter and they work just as well. Just boil them first to get anything that might be in them out and you'll be good

I've even found with anything less than the Eclipse 12, the current is low enough that jamming a bit of sponge filter into the filter output (so that it sticks out a bit into the tank, and out a bit into the filter, in the area where water from the biowheel falls) will slow it down enough. Just don't jam it in too tightly or it will make the water flow back up and possibly flood out of the filter basket.

I just use sponge filter media from the pet stores - it's got really large holes in it and is super easy to cut.
