Divided 10g

I was lucky enough to pick up two 10 gallon tanks with all the accessories off Freecycle, and am planning on rigging a divider in one of them with the plastic craft mesh. What I was wondering, though, is about filter placement. I'll be using a 2-10 gallon filter, so it's not overly strong, but I've seen it repeated over and over on this forum that bettas don't like currents at all. So should I give the side with the filter more space (maybe 3/5 to 2/5 instead of half and half) so that the fish can "escape" from the more active part of the tank, or is something like that not as big of a deal as I'm imagining it to be?

i came up with a totally different idea for mine anyways lol... bit like a drip system. works the treat! reduces current, good aeration and circulates water evenly through all sections...

Oh, that's awesome--thanks for the link! I'm not really equipped to do that at this exact moment, but I'll definitely try that in the near future. I also love the idea of using the black tape to hide the sealant seams... They're just plain unattractive.

^^^ your welcome :) i stared at the filter for bout 2 hours and got the epiphany then lol. yes, it takes me that long to switch my brain on lol.
yeah i was shocked at how ugly the seams were and i dont want to stand the dividers in there without glueing them in! too unsafe.
