Thailand

Has anyone here ever gone to thailand better yet ever lived there? The reason I ask is that I have been doing some research and apparently it is legal to fight them there. I was also looking at betta fighting and apparently there are excersises you can do to make them stronger. I don't want to fight them I would just love to make them stronger. I was wondering if anyone has ever experimented with this. Any response would be great BYE!

Hmm that's interesting. Well they get a lot of exercise out of flaring so I'm sure that's what they mean about the exercises. You can buy a floating mirror and float it in there 10-15 minutes a day and it's great for them.

My cousins are in Vietnam and they do this. Betta's treatments are much different over there than here. However, one group of cousins buy their bettas from farmers, the others (they live in different places) get bettas straight from the wild. I don't know how they do it though, but they do it when they're bored, and perhaps not so hardcore.

You can chase them around the aquarium a little bit each week...it'll improve their fitness, but I don't know if it'll do anything to make them better fighters.

I've heard some breeders and people use an attacking stick to help train them for fights or to condition them for breeding as well as when you give them a salt bath mix the water with a finger gently.
I know its legal but i wouldn't never fight them they seem so regal.

Cool little link, some of the information is a bit dodgy though ( i believe)

If fighting betta is what you do for entertainment than you're probably betting all of your money

When my cousins bet on betta fights, it's usually on lunch and/or dinner.

The most I've ever heard of, from my family, is $50 on a fight. It could be very different with other people, but that it just from my relations.
