So, basically I have found myself "incharge" of Frankie the Betta. He belongs to my half sister, who has recently moved into an apt in my building. She had him for I'm not sure how long and FINALLY today my nagging paid off and they got him a larger habitat. It still isn't ideal (we need to get a heater, some water treatment, probably some aquairum salt, more plants/hidey places etc) but its MUCH MUCH better than what it was. They were changing his water (not quite enough IMO but probably every other day), but he hasn't had heat or anything nice. Now I was photographing him today and I noticed his head looked a bit...weird. It is a duller almost green tinted color and almost looks fuzzy. I know that white fuzzy is bad but is this an illness also or just how he is?
He was MUCH more active when put in his big habitat today, and even in his small one was flaring at my camera. He didn't eat when I tried to feed him but he had just been moved so thats understandable. Also his fins maybe aren't perfect either. Fin rot? Or no? I don't really know Bettas at all so I may be seeing things that aren't there. I know a lot of times the head will be sort of different color from body anyway.
Here is a few pics to show what I'm talking about
