I can imagine a huge ziplock bag filled with ice cubes would cool it down nicely. I know what you mean about the weather, I'm over in Texas, haha... Mine is up at 80F right now. Did you try the ice-bag method first?

The temp in my tank ended up dropping to 81, which is where it's been staying pretty consistently. I didn't put him in until it dropped down at least to 83, and I turned on the cieling fan in my room to lower the room temp, in the hopes that a lower room temp would help the water temp drop, but more slowly than it would if I stuck a bag of ice cubes in it. Andrew was pretty mad at me by the time I finally put him back, but he's fine and dandy now. Next time, I will have to keep in mind the ice-cubes-in-a-bag trick for when I make the water too hot again (since it will inevitably happen again). Thanks for the suggestion! =]
