Thinking bout a Betta tank

Iv got a starter tank with all the doofreys thats been given to me. Been throwing a few ideas about n researching a bit and i think that i want a betta tank. But no firm decision as yet. Got a few questions:

Can female bettas live together without hurting each other asIv read males will kill.

I did want a shrimp tank. Can bettas n shrimps live together?

Do they like plants? I want to do a planted tank. Iv got a successful platy tank but its non planted n wanna step up a gear.

I'm completely confused by the information over load.

How big is your tank?
Yes, Bettas love plants! Females can live together, but you need a certain amount of space and a certain number of girls...and plenty of hiding places!

My bettas have always done very well with shrimp. I love them.

The more plants you have the better. Females can live together in groups of 4+ but you need at least a 10k gallon tank with lots of hiding spots. Some bettas will tolerate shrimp, some will kill them. It really depends on the personality of the individual fish.
