2-7 is average. Though some get to be more at petstores like $15 or more. Then online they can be much more.

Yes most bettas are cheap, but that doesn't mean they are sick... but they could get sick in the little cups at the store...

Yup, 2-7 sounds about right... cheap doesn't always = sick. Tofu was $1.50 and he's healthy as can be, and has been with me for several months now.

wow $1.50 dollars is extremely cheap, the average price here is R35 -R45 ($5-$6.50) for males and R20 ($3) for females.

I've bought a couple HM's at Petco for $14 and just bought a King betta for $12. It all depends on their tail type. VT's are usually $3-4, CT usually $5-6. Females are cheaper than males by a couple dollars. If you buy online you're going to pay a lot. They can be $20 but than with shipping you're paying an extra $25-30 on top of the $20.
