About Breeding...

My friend and i were talking and later down the road i want to try and breed some bettas. Even if its just once, to say that i did it and i tried XD

My question is (and i know to do research and everything) but how do you sort of figure out what females to breed with what males as far as color is concerned. I know most of my males are LPS but one of mine coming will be a gold (fingers crossed that he makes it here) so I mean is it just...sort of guess, or is it that the main color of the fish would be the main color of the young?

I have
Green/Blue Crowntail
Extremely Dark Blue/Red Crowntail (i thought he was black :<)
Deep Orange Veil Tail (i believe)
White Irridencent Halfmoon
Deep red/rust/brown with lighter body Halfmoon

Remember looks skip a generation so they'll look more like their grandparents and since you don't know who their granparents are you wont know how they'll look.
