Exclamation Split/ripped tail? HELP!

I have set up my betta's tank and gave everything in it the toilet paper test and all was fine, but I woke up this morning and my boy's tail looks like this! Is this normal for a VT?? Now I am starting to wonder if he came like this?

By the beard! He's transforming into a double tail!

Excuse me. If the tail is splitting, I would suggest adding aquarium salt to the water. 1 teaspoon per gallon.

water changes, water changes, water changes...and a little bit of salt. That's the best medicine. Double-check all your decorations to make sure it wasn't something in there that might have hurt him.

Even if it isn't, increased water changes and a little salt isn't going to hurt anything.

It definitely looks ripped. The above advice is real good. No fear, as long as you take care of him fine!

Looks like the little guy blew his fins! This comes from to much flaring. Some fish will just do it randomly.

It's nothing to fret over, just keep his water nice and clean.
