HUGE sorority 70 gal!

My dad had a 70 gal for the last 6 years with a heater and a Ehiem 2215
(freshwater)

He is sick of it and it got taken down about 6 months ago just before we moved. he agreed for me to set it up as long as he didnt have to help me with the maintanance or feeding.

I smell a sorority!

How many females could go in that?
and i love the look of neon tetras and cardinals any recomendations?

i need your help :)

Can't really answer how many, but I would imagine ... a LOT? I'll bet you're going to have fun with that. Good luck!

If you've got the light requirements, nothing more beautiful than a hugely, densely planted aquascape.

Plants make everything twice as expensive though. :-/

From experience, I would advise you to only fill it up so that the water is about a foot deep. More than that can be problematic. If you wanted it to be more full than that, I would try to set up the substrate in such a way so that half of the aquarium is about this depth. It can be a very cool effect, when done properly!

I would also advise you, since you wanted to keep cardinal tetras in there too (great choice, BTW), to have approx. twice as many tetras as female bettas.
