I have a divided 5 gallon, and I do 50% water changes once or twice a week, and it's cycled, haha. I believe only smaller tanks require to do 100% at all, unless for some reason, you don't cycle.

Cycle fishless first, it seems easier. Then 20%ish a week seems fine.

Go to craft sections and/or craft stores for "PLASTIC MESH". Then go buy some report-folders, and take the removable binders from those.

If you really want to go indepth, go over to the "betta fish bowl/accessories". There are lots of info over there that would really help you.

With smaller tanks you need to do larger water changes. I don't think you have to do 100% water changes that often in a five gallon tank though.

There is a really good DIY divider. There are a few tutorials for it. It's pretty cheap too!

If you can't find materials to make a divider, you can find one tomorrow at a mom and pop pet store pretty cheap. The divider I got only cost $5, and all I had to do was simply stick it in the tank, as opposed to finding the materials and going through the trouble of making my own.

Not sure how much they are at Petsmart or Petco though.

For my 20 gallon i do a 10% water change once every week (but as mentioned earlier you get away with every other week provided your filter works efficiently and no fish are sick and therefore need special care) By the way LOVE the tank!! I want!!!!!!!!! :D
