Definitely odd number pairs, and at least three or more. The above poster had a good idea with five, how large is your tank?

How many gallons is that? And no it's not but with 9 platys you may not have room. Can you convert for me?

Alright I converted myself.. that's a 15 gallon tank. With 9 platys and NO additional fish your tank is already over stocked. Platys are roughly 2 inches long, if you stick to the inch per gallon rule you should have them in 18 gallons minimum. You'll have to get a separate tank for your sorority.

Yes it is fifteen, and it is over stocked, you have no room for more fish.

Thanks. I wish I had researched Bettas and found out about them before I got so many platys. I was so eager I got them all and now I've fallen in love with Bettas Sadly I have no room for anymore tanks.

Another question as you are more than I do about Bettas. My new Betta is tiny about the same size as my platy. Will she grow?
