advice on buying friends for my female betta?

hi, i bought a sorority (3) of bettas in september 2009 from the same tank at the pet shop, however shortly after purchasing them one of the bettas began attacking the other two. i separated the agressive betta from the others to prevent further damage. she has been living in her own tank for about 7 months now, is it wise to introduce her to new fish or should she stay alone in the tank?

thanks

Tank size - 3 gallons
Heated - 28 degrees C/ 78 degrees F
Filtered - yes
water treatment - tap safe

Try putting her in a clear bag or cup and introduce her to the others. If she acts aggressive, no.

If it's 3 gallons, she should be alone. For a betta to have ANY FISH "friends", they MUST have 10 gallons. If you want a snail or shrimp "friend", five gallons is okay. A three gallon, though, if only enough space for one betta.
Besides, it's suggested that in order for a sorority to be successful, 4 females are needed. Any less and one will eventually get ganged-up on and killed. If you really want to have more than one betta in a tank, consider getting a ten gallon. Otherwise, it's better for all animals that they stay alone.
