Question Pacing?

I can't tell if Taco is pacing, or just a very active, happy fish.

Here's a video, this is what he does most of the day...

What does this seem like to you? Pacing, anxiety, or just a very happy, active fish?

Beautiful Tank!!! My two in their Hex 5's do this all day as well. But for them it seems much faster since they only have to go 1/6th to hit a corner. They do it so much and so fast I justify a extra pellet most nights for all they must be burning off. My other two in 3 gal Totes do not really do this. They seem more content to meander around their tank's. I have no answer. I hope they are happy and just prowling on the off chance that a new pellet will happen by.

My baby boy Alpha (RIP) did this all the time. He was 100% happy in his nice big 10 gallon tank. I think Taco is happy to be out of a cup with Tuna, and into a nice tank.

Dear Youtube, stop changing your layout. Geez.

I think Taco looks like he's still exploring the entire tank. But he definitely is perking up nicely ... ! He is indeed becoming a happy, active fish ... good job on the rescue. :)

Thanks guys. I was only concerned because a few people I know (who don't have much betta experience), told me that he was "pacing with anxiety" and it was a sign he was unhappy. I was trying to figure out he could be unhappy, LOL.

W-what ... ? If anything, "unhappy" would be him not swimming at all. I say he's just fine, although he MAY be getting used to it? Haven't gotten a new betta in forever, so not entirely sure.

Oops... typo. My last post should read, "I was trying to figure out HOW he could be unhappy, LOL."

Anyways, I agree, my thoughts were the same -- if he were unhappy, I would think he'd be sulking at the bottom or something similar, not swimming around. However, I've never had a betta swim back and forth *that* much, so I figured it warranted asking. Tofu swims around a lot, but it's not that fast, and it's more in a circle (basically, he does laps in his tank). Tuna acts similar as Tofu with the laps. Taco is doing more of a back and forth relay race, LOL.

He doesn't look stressed or anxious to me. I think he's fine. If he was stressed, I would think he'd be hiding or swimming franticly.
