Exclamation Fish food

Tiger (DT male) and Flare (VT male) have been making fish food out of each other. Being short on space, I made a 5gal divider for them out of plastic mesh and part of a 10gal divider and put them on either side. When I came back about an hour later, Flare was in the same side as Tiger. I ran to separate them, moving Flare into a jelly jar temporarily, as I don't have another place to put him right now, giving him a single crystal of salt, as it was so small. Only Flare seems to be hurt, but aside from his badly ripped fins he's acting perfectly normal. Tiger doesn't look hurt at all. Looking at the divider, which doesn't look like it had been bent or torn at all, I'm guessing Flare just went over the top. I've since lowered the water level. Can Flare go back once he's healed? I feel terrible about this.
Pics attached: First is Flare, taken several weeks ago. Next is a far-off view of the tank, a top view of the divider, a side view, a picture of the after-fight Flare and a picture of Tiger (yes, that was after I moved them apart). Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
