So I went to my local Wal-Mart today to pick up some things and of course I had to take a stroll by the fish section. As I'm walking by, thinking of all the things I WOULD say to the fish keeper if I had more nerve, I noticed a beautiful bright red male Betta swimming around in a tank with very tiny baby Neon Tetras. In the time it took for me to get the fish keepers attention I watched the Betta kill 4 tetras...
I told the fish guy that it was probably a bad idea to have him in there and he grunted at me and told me that those tetras had been dead already. Pfffft! Then went on to tell me that he dropped the bowl the betta had been in originally and had no where else to put him(when there was a completely empty tank beside the one he was in) and that he KNEW the betta and the tetras were fine together as he has been in the hobby for 30 years. It took all of the power in me to bite my tongue and I let him walk on by. Then as he wasn't looking I scooped the betta out with the net laying there and dropped him in the other tank. All turned out dandy and the veteran fish keeper had no idea.
In short; I hate Wal-Mart.
