My new boy, Indy

Say hello to Independence, Indy for short. Mother was quite insistent that since I got him on the 4th of July, he needed a name to represent it. (Since I was gonna name him Orion).

I just went to Petco to browse that afternoon and they must have just gotten a shipment recently since they had a lot of bettas. I found a couple I really liked but I couldnt put this guy down. I already had my Fluval Spec V in the process of being set up. So it was an easy choice to bring him home. I tested his water in the cup as well, and it wasnt too bad.

So I hurried and set up the Spec V and got him adjusting that night. Hes really a good betta. He is very curious and not afraid of my phone when im taking pics/vids. He ate for me right away the next morning (had to give him some NLS small fish formula since he spit out the Omega One)

And then when I woke up and fed the boys this morning Indy had built me a small bubble nest over night. :D So im a happy fishy mamma today.

Thanks guys! The cashier said he wish he'd seen him first. lol

That background is actually a tank top. He was glass surfing and flaring at his reflection that first night and wouldnt stop. So I grabbed the first clean shirt off my pile and threw it back there. lol

Dont buy background, just use clothes! lol. I have to go find a good background somewhere if hes gonna be a glass surfer. Im not a fan of stick on ones though. I use a cloth on my other fish too.

If you're slightly artistic you can paint the back of the tank with nontoxic paint
