Unhappy I am so mad! Vele's tank is cursed and augie is dead!!

I AM SO MAD (and sad of course.) and really surprised...
Yesterday I did a water change and put Augie into Veles bigger tank. Augie was fine yesterday and I did that water change normally, like I always do. I rinsed Veles Tank 5 times with boiling hot water (he died of a mysterious illness, I don't know what.) So then i put Augie in.
AND THIS MORNING E'S DEAD.
HOW??? WHY???
I am never using Vele's tank again.

R.I.P Augie. I can't believe it, he was my favorite!

I'm so sorry about Augie! What is going on with everyone's fish dying? I'm going to lose Jaden, too.

I'm SO sorry for the loss D: When it comes to the tanks like that, it's definitely best to either set them aside for a good long time, or pull out the bleach or vinegar to give it a VERY thorough clean.

And DQ, what's wrong with Jaden?? ): Didn't you just lose Yerakina?

I am so sorry for your loss!! *Hug* Boiling water won't get all of the bacteria out. So you know for the future it's best to clean with bleach (9 parts water, 1 part bleach) rinse, then wash again with vinegar, then rinse again, then let it dry out in the sun for a day or 2!

Can't really be sure. It could've been shock combined with left over bacteria, could've been a lurking parasite, could've been anything, really. Factors combined together could have also done it. It could have had nothing at all to do with the tank. Still, better to be safe than sorry.

It was my fault, I'm so mad at myself. I've rinsed sick fish's tanks with hot water before and it worked.... ugh. I can't believe I was stupid enough to do that.
Thanks everyone.

It wasn't stupid! Don't think that ): Sometimes things just... happen. I, too, get lax sometimes when cleaning out an empty tank. If it worked in the past, you had no reason to doubt it wouldn't work this time. From now on, though, it might help just to add a dab of vinegar, for an extra kick. Remember to rinse really well afterwards, though (:
