How do you guys cope without a filter?

As some of you may know I bought a 2.4 gall critter keeper yesterday. It has a hydro mini heater which sucks and no filter. Well now I have noticed it is really cloudy, the water has only been in there since yesterday afternoon. Is this normal? I'm freaking out because everything seems to be going wrong with my little Aden lately.

I think that both of those filters would work for a kritter keeper and also what i am considering if I sent up a 2.5.

Hmm I've never had this happen. I don't use filters on any of my tanks. What kind of water conditioner are you using? Sometimes it can make the water cloudy.

Need help with Sunburst Wag Platys!

Ok so I recently purchased three sunburst wag platys at PETSMART. One I think might be pregnant because she got really fat! I also don't know any of the genders of them. Please take a look at these links and tell me what you think. Thanks!

Hi-jack my post why dont you :P Just kidding =) I dont know anything about platties we had them when I was a kid and 1 baby survived. What I do know but dont take my word for it, is that to tell a male from a female, the anal fin on a male is sort of like a spike and the females is rounded. Maybe the people at tropical fish could be more of a help to you =)

BettaFishCrazy - I use tetra Aquasafe. I found it strange that teh water went like that since I only put it in yesterday and it cant be a bacteria bloom cause I dont have a filter right? another quick question, the heater I have for the tank is a hydro mini and it refuses to heat my tank beyond 65, can you recommend any?

All those filters shown are great. At first when I had a small tank with no filter the water got cloudy because I didn't wash the gravel properly. Maybe thats why?

The Hagen Elite filter is extremely powerful! Even in a bigger tank.

I have a 5gal and dont use a filter and never had any problems with cloudy water. I dont think it has anything to do with that. Cookie may be onto something with the gravel.

The gravel wasnt dusty when I bought it, I did wash it throughly with boiling water but I never had this problem when I put the gravel in my 12 gall 3 weeks ago. Do you reckon I should take everything out of the small tank and wash it again?
