Okay, guys, seriously, Squirt needs help.

I really need someone to take a few minutes and please help.

Squirt's still floating, he can't swim well and can't swim down without floating back up. This is scaring me, Squirt was my first betta and I can't see him like this, I miss the bubbly personality that he used to have.
His color isn't vibrant anymore, he looks very stressed and bored.
All he can do is swim at the top cause he can't go hang out in his rock or anything.

Please, if you know what this is, please please please comment and help Squirt, I can go shopping Thursday or this weekend if anything is needed.
I will do anything to help my little Squirtypie.

Maybe he's just getting old...? How long have you had him?
And if not, what are his water temperatures, nitrite levels, PH, etc.... could there be any chemicals in the water? (stuff like that.)

I'll have him for two years on august 22. His temp stays at 75-80 degrees, i dont know how to get nitrate levels, and i'll get his ph tomorrow.

Cool. He could just be getting old... I've had some bettas die at two or even one year for no reason. Many bettas in pet stores are older than you think, as well.... so Squirt could maybe be three, even.

Is he bloated? have you tried fasting him? How long has he been like this?? I would lower his water level, and add a little aquarium salt or non-iodized table salt to the water. Also try fasting him for a few days and see if that helps.

I would fast him for a few days then feed him some daphnia.

Okay, I tried fasting him, I fed him a cooked pea, sort of seemed to help I guess. And yeah when I got him, he was pretty big, he could be a few months older than I think. Hes been like this since last Thursday, he was much much worse on Thursday (Tilted on his side and floating at the top, couldn't swim at all.).
Can I have the exact name of the Daphnia, so I can tell my mom what to get at Petco when she goes shopping tomorrow?
I also have another question, If you put too much salt into their water, couldn't that cause them to become floaty? Thats what my mom said salt could do, but I don't know if she's right.
I'll clean his tank tomorrow night and add some of the stuff, and lower the water level.

Oh... I just realized that their little shrimp thingys... Haha, I thought it was some kind of medicated food. Is that available at petco?

Yeah I'm pretty sure they have frozen daphnia at petco :)
