Betta Move

I am moving, am wondering if there is any general guidelines to make it less stressful on them?
My current plan was to drain there tanks and transfer there tanks while there are in a half gallon cup I use to hold them when I do a 100% water change arrive at the new place and redo there tanks there.
What if the PH is vastly different? Is there any pit fall I should be aware of?

Personally I would just pop in a local pet store and explain you are moving and ask if you can buy a fish bag, they will probably just give you one, I would use tank water in the bag, it should be fine and not change that much during your journey, you could use a cup, but a cup is hard and if he hits the sides could be a little uncomfortable for him, a bag is reasonably soft. He will probably be ok in a cup, but I would also cover the cup as well if you go down that route.
Good luck with your move.
