Question about Double tails

If you breed a DBT with an HM (I know your not supposed to breed DBT to DBT). Would you get a lot of DBT fry or would it be mostly a mix?

I really like the look of Eros (my HMDBT) but I'm not really into Double tails, I wouldn't mind getting some but I don't want a whole spawn of DBT.

I get about 25% DBT when I use either male or female DBT for spawning and 2% of that are deformed even with using only one DBT.

Thats not too bad I guess. Of that 2% that are deformed do you have to cull all of them or are some viable for adoption as pets? The deformities are my biggest worries. I don't want a whole bunch of deformed fish I have to euth.

Crooked spines and short swim bladders I cull, the stubby ones depending on what they look like I keep for free pets.
IME-with breeding you will get some deformed fish that will need to be culled...thats just part of breeding anything....IMO it is cruel to allow a creature to suffer......

Yeah.. I've pretty much accepted that some will need to be culled. I don't really mind that. I wouldn't want seriously deformed fish that may die anyways to be given homes when there are perfectly healthy fish that need homes too.
