Bettas Can Be Heartbreakers...

So on Monday I went to Petsmart to get can food and ended up coming home with 3 bettas (of course) one gorgeous blue/orange veiltail male, a gorgeous blue multi veiltail female and a poor heartbreaking sight of a betta...

He was covered nose to tail in ich, his dorsal fin and ventrals were virtually gone and his caudal and anal fins didn't look much better! His cup was FILTHY and I knew that he probably wouldn't make it, but he was trying to live so I decided to help him.

Unfortunately when I got home from dinner last night he was gone... It's killing me that I couldn't do more for him...

I am going out to Petsmart in a bit to get a new fish in his place. I don't want to get a healthy fish, I want to find one that needs my help as much as he did, and I want to save him this time!!

I'm sorry to hear about Soulja Fishy but it's wonderful that he could live out his last few days in comfort with somebody caring for him rather than on a pet store shelf in a filthy cup. It's great that you're planning to rescue another sick fishy. Good luck!

I got that little guy for free, and I brought him and the receipt with me today, because there's a 14 day guarentee, I got the new boy I got today for free as well. So petsmart has not made any money on the sick fish
