Tree--I can't tell yet whether the scales are blue or green. I'll have to wait til he colors up more, though if I'm not mistaken, I did notice a blue flash earlier when he was darting around. And thanks! <3

Thanks to all for the bleach answers. I'm so nervous not to get it right...god forbid he gets sick.

He's a Copper so he's going to look lots of different shades in different lighting. Coppers will look silver, gold, blue, green, purple, and even a rosy color depending on the lighting.

There is now. Mustard Gas used to be; dark blue or black body with yellow fins and a black outlining band. Now everyone calls anything with yellow in its fins a MG which frustrates the heck out of me and plenty others on here! But I do accept the Copper Mustard Gas which is a Copper body, yellow fins with a black or copper outlining band, it's the same pattern as the regular MG, just in Copper form.

Times are changing I guess! lol, I'm totally not old enough to say that XD

Yeah, that's the way I always thought of a Mustard Gas, lilnaugrim; the blue or black body, etc (I've also heard green but I'm no expert). I knew about the black outlining, so when I saw this boy's coloring I just snatched him up, knowing he'd be pretty cool no matter what.

Hehe, I'm not someone who would insist anyway...HE'S A MUSTARD GAS NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY, or something... I just think he looks pretty neat, so that's good enough for me.

I guess MG has just become a faster way, for most, of describing the yellow fin/darker body coloring even when the betta isn't exactly an MG? Hmm. Sort of like branding. :) (All tissues are Kleenex, etc, hehe)

Green is part of the turquoise color, so the fish isn't actually green, just can look it in different lighting situations.

There are three different blue colors; Steel blue, Turquoise (primarily in the trade which makes the light blue/green color) and Royal blue (purple-ish). I guess breeding Steel blue and Purple makes Turquoise from what I've been told but it's not so easy breeding out Turquoise or any of the irids actually (blue layer).

But yes, I've seen yellow Pineapple betta's being called MG and clearly Pineapple is it's own coloration lol. That is more where I get annoyed because it's complete mislabelining. Fine if the fish at least has a blue body and some yellow, whatever, but a completely different color and still calling it MG?? some people are just too darn lazy haha, j/k
