Can some tell me why a Male has such a big belly?

Well i was looking on Google for my new website that im making and i found this male with a big belly flaring at a female in a hurricane glass. Well my question is why does he have a big belly instead of the female?

Hmmm well either he is a she or he's really bloated. I'm not that good at determining if it's a male or female, so hopefully someone can tell ya. :)

My first thought was female.. especially since males usually display their ventrals while flaring.. but I don't think females have the operculum (the beard that comes out when they flare).. I could be wrong though.

No, I don't think females have th beard. I had mine flare a while ago and it was just her gills.
Maybe just really bloated??

i was thinking the same thing when i seen it i thought that that was a female but the female doesnt have that beard...also the female is usually the one in the hurricane glass. The male is the one that usually flares the most at the female but it still looks like a male betta fish i think so but the belly is kinda scary when you think about it im confused

He's either bloated, full of food or has worms. Hopefully it's not the worms...

Looks like a juvie male to me.

Fry usually have large bellies because they eat a lot. It's perfectly normal.
