Smile Walmart gravel - is it any good?

I was thinking of buying my gravel from Walmart....specifically the black one. Has anyone tried this and had any problems with color running or what-not? It's about 50 cents cheaper then Petco, and it doesn't seem quite as shiny (which is good as it's more natural). I just wanted to make sure it's ok. :)

I've tried most of the wal mart gravel, including the black, and it's all fine. ;) I just got a tank set up with walmart gravel recently, actually. As long as you rinse it well before using it, it'll be fine ;)

The only problem I have with the black stuff is you really really have to wash it. It'll bleed and fog up your water if you don't give it a couple of good scrubbings. All the rest works fine, no bleeding.

Yeah, I had the same issue. It needs to be rinsed well.
