Unhappy Fin rot pattern with tank cleaning...

So I've start to notice a pattern, every time after I clean Charlie's tank %50, a day later, he develops fin rot.

Anyone know why this might be?

I have the same thing happen with Friedrich. It usually goes away when I put the salt back in the water, but it doesn't make sense to me why it would get so bad RIGHT AFTER I clean!! >:I

Something you're putting back into the tank is still contaminated. Or maybe one of your cleaning tools is still contaminated.

My guess is it might be in the filter container or I'm not stirring up the rocks enough to get all the debris loose.

So I asked my local fish store guy, he says, it could be that the water is too hard. So I should try using filtered water, room temp or close to his tank temp of course. So I'm going to try that.
