I wasn't sure where to put this, so I thought I would start here. I am using an Evolve 4 with custom media.
I have planted tanks for my Bettas. I used aquarium sand for the substrate.
When doing a water change, I try to take a straw and suck up the poop and any debris I see on the bottom.
Then I do my water change. Taking small amount by small amount out until I have taken out about 2 gallons. Then replace with new treated water.
However, I noticed something that seems to be getting worse. Each time I finish the water change, there is a significant amount of debris still in the water that gets stirred up. It settles in about an hour. But should I be doing something to get this debris out as well? I try to get the majority of it but I guess I am not getting it all.
