I am going to use a tank that had a hamster in it, a few times, but is in wonderful condition and barely used. However, I've washed it with dish soap, in the past, and I'm worried about residue left over.
Do you recommend that I soak it in bleach mixture for a few hours? Please let me know the best way to do this. Thanks!
Use vinegar to cut the soap residue and then a diluted bleach and warm water, fill to the top and let it sit for at least 24h to make a leak test, rinse well and refill with clean water and a dechlorinator.
Yes Thank you ,this is very good to know i have a 20 gallon tank that used to have a turtle in it...i cant recall how it was cleaned back then...but to be on the safe side i think i will do this too :)
