color loss

Well my crowntail has lost his color in his body, his tail is still red though. It seems like stress but I'm not 100% sure. Anybody have any idea how to get his color back. He is in the correct tank and such, he was fine before the water change and then no color since then, which was about 2 days ago.

Have you tested your water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? It could be there was a swing that is causing him to stress out. What is the temp of the tank and what is his behavior like?

I did test the water, his temp is at the same one as it was before the change. He seems ok, hangs out by the heater a lot though

I would keep an eye on him. If you can turn the heat up a little and put a tiny bit of aquarium salt in there. If he looks stressed you can also keep the lights on the tank off for a few days to see if that calms him down.

plus the heater can't go any higher, it's a specific setting, and the light that he sees is my room light, it's only on when I'm in here.

Try putting a black tshirt on/around the tank, to make it darker for him~ Bettas are less stressed in dark places :O
